In this activity, special education students work on the concept of before, after and before & after. Each game card is missing a letter or two, students are to place a game piece on the line to finish the alphabetical order. Students orally or using their communication system, state the sequence.

Life skill correlation: Students learn the functional skill of determining before, after. Knowing the correct alphabetical order is used in functional life skill jobs (organizing), life skill activities (yellow/white pages) and leisure skills (finding books in a library).

Functional Level Differences

• Low - missing letter after
• Moderate - missing letter before, after, and before/after
• High - can play same as Moderate at teacher's discretion
