Show Me the Money

Product Information

In this life skill activity, special educaiton studentsuse real money to learn the life skill of counting money. Students gather coins and/or bills that add up to the given amount on a card. Using the con exchange card, if needed, students exchange smaller coins for larger amounts so that the least amount of coins are used.

This functional academic activity should be used in the classroom as a hands-on practical lesson prior to going into the community where money is used during Community Based Instruction (CBI).

Functional Level Differences

• Low - Up to $1.50, 5¢ increments, using coins only
• Moderate - Up to $5.00, required to exchange coins so that they are using the least amount of coins, using dollars and coins
• High - Up to $50.00, required to exchange coins so that they are usign the least amount of coins, using dollars and coins
